On September 12, 2023, at Auburn University in Alabama, Revival broke out among the “Gen Zeers!”
First, who is Gen Z or Gen X or the Millennials and where do these designations come from? The Pew Research Center appears to be the main source of these age-group designations, which periodically publishes their findings and designations of these various generations.
Here are the age groups with their designations;
· Baby Boomers: Born 1946-1964 (currently 59-77 years old)
· Gen X: Born 1965-1980 (currently 43-58 years old)
· Millennials: Born 1981-1996 (currently 27-42 years old)
· Gen Z: Born 1997-2012 (currently 11-26 years old)
· Gen Alpha: Born early 2010s-2025 (currently 0-about 10 years old)
The Gen Z group, primarily consisting of “Teenagers and 20-somethings, are said to be the most Un-Churched, Un-Christian age group America has ever known; though I would add that Gen X and Millennials aren’t far behind!
This disturbing scenario is of course the direct result of the satanic Supreme Court decisions in 1962 and 1963, which first banned Christian prayer from Public Schools, followed the next year by banning the Holy Bible from Public Schools; and introducing the diabolical “false god” of Evolution as the source of our Creation—in essence banning Truth, Reality and Morality from America’s Public Education, thereby resulting in the mayhem we witness happening daily throughout our once Great Nation.
The Answer is to Restore The Bible to our Public Schools, as well as to our Sciences, Politics, Public Square and Personal Lives—thereby Restoring Truth, Reality and Morality to our Culture!
But this will require a dramatic shift in the thinking among our young people—the Next Generation of Leadership!
Which here in 2023, beginning with the Asbury Christian University in Wilmore, Kentucky and now spreading to the secular Auburn University, is exactly what is happening all across America! In other words, WE HAVE HOPE!
The recent Auburn University event was a dream of Tanya Pruitt, wife of Auburn’s Assistant Basketball Coach, to bring Auburn University together for a night of Christian worship and preaching. Along with getting the Head Coaches of Auburn’s Sports Teams involved, Tanya invited two speakers, Jennie Allen, Founder of the “If” Women’s Conferences and Jonathan Pokluda, the Lead Pastor of Harris Creek Baptist Church in Waco, TX, and former leader of The Porch in Dallas, TX which grew to be the largest weekly young adult gathering of its kind in the country, along with the popular Contemporary Christian Passion Band to lead worship.
Then something spontaneous and wonderful happened! I’ll let you watch this video for the details; but some 200 “Gen Z” Auburn University Students didn’t just “go forward to answer an Altar Call,” but more dramatic and impactful they wanted to be Baptized to cleanse away their sins!
Most important, my hope and prayer is, as Jennie Allen prays for you at the end of this brief video, you will gain a burning desire to be a Vehicle of Revival! You may never be invited to speak at a University, but as Jennie prays, we can all be a Vessel of Revival, “When we trust that Revival can happen with a neighbor over coffee!”
