My Encounter with a Jehovah's Witness at My Door!
JW's Deny that Jesus is Jehovah & Deny Jesus Physically Rose from the Dead, But The Bible Says...
You’ll enjoy my brief sharing of my confrontation with a Jehovah’s Witness this past week.
Watch:
Bible Scriptures I mentioned in the video:
John 8:58-59 (NKJV)
58Jesus said to them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I AM.”
59Then they took up stones to throw at Him; but Jesus hid Himself and went out of the temple, going through the midst of them, and so passed by.
The above declaration by Jesus that He is, “I AM,” resulted in the Jewish religious leaders picking up stones to stone Him to death for the crime of blasphemy, because they knew Jesus was claiming to be Jehovah God: The Self Existent, Eternal; the Name God gave Himself when He revealed His Name to Moses out of the burning bush:
Exodus 3:13-14 (NKJV)
13Then Moses said to God, “Indeed, when I come to the children of Israel and say to them, ‘The God of your fathers has sent me to you,’ and they say to me, ‘What is His name?’ what shall I say to them?”
14And God said to Moses, “I AM WHO I AM.” And He said, “Thus you shall say to the children of Israel, ‘I AM has sent me to you.’”
Acts 4:8-12 (NKJV)
8Then Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit, said to them, “Rulers of the people and elders of Israel:
9If we this day are judged for a good deed done to a helpless man, by what means he has been made well,
10let it be known to you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead, by Him this man stands here before you whole.
11This is the ‘stone which was rejected by you builders, which has become the chief cornerstone.’
12Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.”
Luke 24:36-39 (NKJV)
36Now as they said these things, Jesus Himself stood in the midst of them, and said to them, “Peace to you.”
37But they were terrified and frightened, and supposed they had seen a spirit.
38And He said to them, “Why are you troubled? And why do doubts arise in your hearts?
39Behold My hands and My feet, that it is I Myself. Handle Me and see, for a spirit does not have flesh and bones as you see I have.”
1 Corinthians 15:1-8, 17-22, 51-58 (NKJV)
1Moreover, brethren, I declare to you the gospel which I preached to you, which also you received and in which you stand,
2by which also you are saved, if you hold fast that word which I preached to you—unless you believed in vain.
3For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures,
4and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures,
5and that He was seen by Cephas, then by the twelve.
6After that He was seen by over five hundred brethren at once, of whom the greater part remain to the present, but some have fallen asleep.
7After that He was seen by James, then by all the apostles.
8Then last of all He was seen by me also, as by one born out of due time.
17And if Christ is not risen, your faith is futile; you are still in your sins!
18Then also those who have fallen asleep in Christ have perished.
19If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men the most pitiable.
20But now Christ is risen from the dead, and has become the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep.
21For since by man came death, by Man also came the resurrection of the dead.
22For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ all shall be made alive.
51Behold, I tell you a mystery: We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed—
52in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
53For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.
54So when this corruptible has put on incorruption, and this mortal has put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written: “Death is swallowed up in victory.”
55 “O Death, where is your sting? O Grave, where is your victory?”
56The sting of death is sin, and the strength of sin is the law.
57But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
58Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.
These 2 passages from The Gospel of John will also bless you:
John 1:1-5, 10-14, 18 (NKJV)
1In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
2He was in the beginning with God.
3All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made.
4In Him was life, and the life was the light of men.
5And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.
10He was in the world, and the world was made through Him, and the world did not know Him.
11He came to His own, and His own did not receive Him.
12But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name:
13who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
14And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.
18No one has seen God at any time. The only begotten Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, He has declared Him.
John 20:24-31 (NKJV)
24Now Thomas, called the Twin, one of the twelve, was not with them when Jesus came.
25The other disciples therefore said to him, “We have seen the Lord.” So he said to them, “Unless I see in His hands the print of the nails, and put my finger into the print of the nails, and put my hand into His side, I will not believe.”
26And after eight days His disciples were again inside, and Thomas with them. Jesus came, the doors being shut, and stood in the midst, and said, “Peace to you!”
27Then He said to Thomas, “Reach your finger here, and look at My hands; and reach your hand here, and put it into My side. Do not be unbelieving, but believing.”
28And Thomas answered and said to Him, “My Lord and my God!”
29Jesus said to him, “Thomas, because you have seen Me, you have believed. Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”
30And truly Jesus did many other signs in the presence of His disciples, which are not written in this book;
31but these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in His name.
