The following information was provided by Chosen People Ministries.
This year, Tisha B’Av begins at sunset on August 6. The term means “the ninth day of the Hebrew month Av,” the date of this minor holiday on the Hebrew calendar.
Many tragedies befell the Jewish people throughout history on this date. Here are a few examples:
The destruction of the First Temple—586 BC
The destruction of the Second Temple—AD 70
The Edict of Expulsion from England—AD 1290
The Alhambra Decree, which forced Jewish people to leave Spain—AD1492
It is customary for Jewish people to fast on this day and read the book of Lamentations. We encourage you to remember this day and pray for the Jewish people—both for protection in the face of rising anti-Semitism and for their salvation through faith in Yeshua/Jesus The King Of The Jews and of the whole world!
“The Lord’s loving kindnesses indeed never cease, for His compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness” (Lamentations 3:22–23).

Thanks for posting this, Pastor. Very interesting.
